I have an '02 Explorer Limited and was wondering about something. On the right rear end of the cargo area is my stock subwoofer and on the left rear end (across from the subwoofer underneath the left side rear window) there's a panel that has lines running throw it. I was wondering what is it or what's it for? I'm thinking it might have somthing to do with the audio system? I've seen other 3rd generation Explorers with the subwoofer mounted on the right but doesn't have that bulky panel on the left. They usually have a cargo net instead of it.

I hope you know what I'm talking about???

Maybe I could post a picture on what I'm talking about.

On my Eddie it has a cubby hole with a net over it.
And a box below it with a lid.

Mine is the same as 34Ford's

I can take a picture if you like. Im installing a antenna for my 2 meter ham.

If you have the rear AC/heater option, the evaporator/heater core/blower plenum and actuator doors are located behind the LH rear panel.

Okay thanks... That explains why when I use the rear AC I always hear some type of clicking comming from back there. But is that normal to hear the clicking long after the rear AC is off?

There are some earlier threads on the rear AC actuator failing, which resutls in a clicking sound when you have the rear unit on. I have this problem but have not had the time to fix it yet. I have found a combination of rear ac switches which stops the clicking sound, at least until I can get it fixed.
