Did not know if this was the right place to post it but my A/C fades out when I hit the gas and the trans down shifts into overdrive. The truck is a 4x4 and the motor is a 4.0L. Anyone have any suggestions or experience the same thing? Does it just need a charge or is it a vacuum leak?

When it happens, check to see if the airflow is being incorrectly redirected to the defroster vents. That is a sign that the HVAC system vacuum is dropping when the engine vacuum drops. Look for a melted or otherwise damaged plastic vacuum line on the passenger side of the engine bay. Other possibilites are a cracked vacuum reservoir under the air filter box or vacuum line problems under the dash.
As noted above, the A/C compressor will be completely disabled by the PCM at or near wide open throttle. That is normal.
