My alternator is starting to make a clicking type of noise that I first thought was just the belt. Listened closer with the 'ole screwdriver trick and I think I hear the click coming from inside of the alternator. The needle on the gage reads on the low side of the middle. Not sure how many miles are on that alternator but I'd guess easily over 100,000 if not 150,000 I'd say. Any initial tests to verify if its goin out? Thinking the sound may be a bearing or something in it? Just replaced the engine with a new long block and the sound wasn't there before the change. But it is now. Truck has 266,000 miles on her and she broke a valve spring. Maybe just disturbing it in the switch over messed it up? Thanks for any ideas/suggestions guys.
