03 Sport Trac idle problem.

I have seen several post on issues with the sport trac idle - i tried cleaning the egr valve, the iac valve, and looked for vacuum leaks but to no avail -
i tried to buy a new dpfe the egr601 that is supposed to be in it but it was different from the one in my trac - so i took mine off and to advance auto down the street to match - they told me what i had (from factory) was for a 03 navigator 5.4 i bought it and it fits fine (the electrical plug was the real clue as it is much larger than the egr601. (the original was fomoco f77e-9j460-ab or egr155)

they told me it was probably assembled on a bad friday afternoon!!

I still have the same idle problem and will work on it piece by piece..

FYI, buy ONLY FORD or MOTORCRAFT dpfe's. The aftermarket ones give the F150 guys a fit but they've learned............
You should be using: DPFE15 EGR Pressure Sensor
FEEDBACK - F77E-9J460AB - EXPLORER SPORT TRAC

My idle smoothed out after replacing my fuel filter at 35K miles. The maintenance schedule says to do it every 30K. Has yours been done?

I sure knocked a bunch of black crap out of it into a glass jar when I changed it.
