04 explorer heater control problem

heat blows out the panel but wont change to defrost or to floor when i turn the knob. i can hear the vacuum work when i do it but it wont change positions. can anyone help

Heater box problem, if you open the glovebox and look to see if recirculation door fell out and onto the blower motor.
