Last Friday the wife and daughter call me while they're on their way home and says the car is making a funny noise (2003 Explorer XLT 4x4 v6). So they get here and I'm in the truck and there's a funny almost clicking like noise. So I'm looking and looking and I asked them did they do anything. My daughter says she turned on the heat cause it was cold. So I listen near the heater control and sure enough a clicking noise. It won't blow any hot air at all. If the knob is turned towards cold, no noise. As soon as it is turned towards warm and hot the clicking noise starts up. I'm thinking somekind of shutoff for the heat to blow is probably broken. I figured I could wait on fixing it since winter is over but good old mother nature is making sure we still have some crappy cold weather in the morning plus we're getting some rainfall for a cpl of days. Anyone have any ideas what it might be? Also whatever happened to the old open/close vent to warm the car if needed like the old cars had? God I miss old cars.
