'04 Explorer Hesitation

Noob here....great site, and lots of info. Noticed today that my '04 Explorer XLT (4.0L V6) is stumbling a little as I give it gas. I am able to get to any speed, but it stumbles/hesitates up to that speed. Once there, it will cruise no problem. Doesn't seem to do it when in neutral, just under power.
However, the CEL came on after parking it, then restarting and driving it around to test it.
I can gun it, and it hesitates, but gets speed still pretty rapidly. Just annoying, but know something else is going on. It has 63K on it.
Thoughts?

Go to Autozone and they will pull the code for you for free.
That will be your best 1st step in solving your problem

Welcome to this forum! Did you ever replace the fuel filter or clean the MAF sensor?

I had a hesitation problem with my 04. It turned out to be a weak fuel pump. It never set a code.
