Got in today cranked it, started fine but made a loud rattling noise. Putting it in gear made the od off light flash, and there's no power when hitting the gas. The rpms barely go over 1k - I put a code reader in and got..
P0371 – Timing reference, high resolution signal A -too many pulses
Not sure what this means exactly. Had been hearing a light tick/rattle previously, so I am assuming it's the guide rail on the timing.
The vehicle starts fine though, it has a much louder rattle now, but it sounds like it's coming from underneath. When I apply the gas, in any gear, it won't really go over 1k rpms and the sound gets louder as well.
So I'm really at a loss as far as a diagnosis goes. Any ideas?
