So on the second attempt to change the fuel filter( tried last week an gave up so I could do more reading) .
I bought a plastic filter removal tool for 5/16 line, too small !
Play with that for 20 minuets no luck
So I cut another sharpie cover an went back at it ( my first attempt was a sharpie cover )
I slipped it on the outlet of filter took a pair of needle nose pliers an PUSH THE FUEL LINE TOWARDS FILTER AN PUSHED THE SHARPIE CAP IN TO CONNECTOR
An it came out !!!!!
I was so so happy at that point !!!
This forum was a big help !!!
The 4 struts an upper an lower ball joints were a breeze compared to that filter 129,000 miles an running strong. We did buy it brand new off the showroom floor in 2004 !!!
Thanks for the advice from this forum
