04 Harmonic Balancer Part # clarification

Hello

I my 04 sport trac hamonic balancer is going bad. I was able to quickly find the problem thanks to all the great information on this website.

I have read a lot of these post on the subject but I could not find a definate answer for my question.

i called ford to get a new balancer and they quoted me close to $390 for it. And I know there are 2 different designs out now because of failures.

I know dorman makes a replacement part (cheaper). But they have 2 part numbers

594-236
or


594-111

it appears the part number 564-236 was superceded by the using a ebay part supercedence app (i know i know). what is it superceded by?

does anyone have any experience with this, should I buy the -111?

If i missed a post that clarifies all this just post me a link and I am sorry.

My truck is a 2004 but the engine has a 2003 build sticker.

It currently has a 594-111 style tensioner on it.

Can I use the 594-236? Or should I replace it with another 594-111?

I see the crank sensor part # is same for 02-06 so I guess the tone ring difference doesn't matter?

I am having the same issue my 05 has the 594-111 and don't know if I should get the newer style or replace with same

There all the same. They just look different.
