Have an '04 Ranger FX4 Level II with 33,000 miles. During normal stopping condition I hear a squealing noise from the front brakes. When I do a hard stop the squealing disappears. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how to fix it. I have taken the brakes off and inspected and lubed the calipers but this did no good. Debating on trying new brake pads. Any recommendations?

04 Ranger Front Brake Squeal

Any ideas? I shop rockauto and there are numerous pads to choose from. Each say that they are the best. I can't be the only one hearing this problem from factory brakes. Maybe the best question should have been "What brake pads do you use?"

I have had no problems with brake squeal with the original or after market pads. I did switch to Raybestos Super Stop Pads because the original pads were marginal and failed me several times during hard stops.
I have no problems with the Raybestos pads with the exception of having to install the Super Stop brake shoes in the rear also to balance the front rear braking.
