04 Sport Trac

I have a 04 Sport Trac. Is there a chip that restrict the motor from going over 97mph. The motot seems to start cutting out at 97 MPH. The is still alot of RPM range in the motor but I just can not get over 97mph.

yes, you have a speed limiter, and a rev limiter if auto tranny, is all there for good reasons, live with it, 97 MPH is far to fast for your lead sled unless you modify the suspension

Yes, there is a speed limiter. You do not want to raise the speed limiter unless you also raise the speed rating of the tires. A blow-out in a SPort-Trac at 100+ would certainly not be pretty.

I just was caught up in the excitment of staying up with some 'stang GTs.

Maybe I should get one of those....and use my sport trac for what it is a truck
