Hopefully someone may be able to help. I appreciate any advise! I removed the dash from my 04 to repair the damper door above my blower motor. The door had fallen down and blocked the blower intake. That problem is fixed but after carefully reinstalling the dash the truck runs terrible. It started right up but will only idle. If you hit the gas it will not build RPM. It acts as if it has a huge vacuum leak or is starving for fuel. The check engine light is on and the wrench light. Oil pressure was good so I let it idle thinking the computer needed to relearn but it never straightened out. The truck did sit for a month with battery disconnected. The truck does have an aftermarket remote starter and it also failed to work as well as door locks. Could the car start unit be the issue? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Since the dash removal involved both disconnecting electrical and vacuum lines let's try and eliminate one. I would locate the vacuum line under the hood that supplies the HVAC system. Pull that hose and cap its connection. See if that changes the performance of the engine. If not, I would doublecheck the large bulkhead electrical connectors to ensure those are connected up tight. May have to pull them and inspect the pins to make sure one did not bend or get pushed back and is cause a short or open.
