Hello
Not sure if I am in the right forum, but I will try it.
My 04 Explorer XLT makes a weird and annoying noise whenever I brake. The sound is as though a spring is being stretched massively (like garage door springs). I realize that perhaps a spring is what returns the brake pedal to its normal state, but I think a hydraulic piston returns it to normal, right?
And the pedal has to be pressed way deep. Brake fluid is at normal level.
I am thinking about change the brake pads (they are due) with the hope that it aliviates. It will defintely reduce the distance of pushing the pedal, but not sure of the noise.
Any thoughts? WD40 to the pedal?
Thanks
