After pulling the code (PO193) from my Explorer it would seem that I have a bad fuel rail pressure sensor. Looking on the forum I now know that it is located to the rear of the engine on the drivers side and that I will need to remove the intake. My question is- is there any tricks or tips in regards to removing the bolt towards the rear of the intake (next to firewall). I know it's going to be a tight squeeze but I can't even see the bolt. Any help would be appreciated.

Q1 - What engine are we talking about (important to get the correct answers)?

Sorry about that, it's the 4.0 V6.

No worries.

Somebody will come along the side of the road that knows these engines - I unfortunately do not.

However, it is curious to me that you say that the intake (manifold?) has to be pulled to do this swap. Do you just mean the MAF/Trottle body?

Good luck with it.

Yes, that's my understanding. The fuel rail sits just below the manifold- unfortunately!

Ouch. I wonder why that would be so?

Cause Ford engineers don't do their own repairs!

Yep the frp sensor is bad and you have to remove intake to access it.

swetrid- I'm having a heck of time with the last rear bolt on the drivers side with this intake. As posted earlier I can't even see or feel the bolt much less seem to get my t-30 on there. I have even considered taking off the hood in order to gain better access. Do you recommend taking off anything in addition to the intake that might allow better access to the back bolt?

I basically just reach in the back with quarter inch socket and extension and put it onto bolt and then install my ratchet and remove bolt. They suck!
