05 transmisson just went...

hello to everyone... first post unfortunatelly bad news..just bought her...91,000k with the 3rd bunk ,leather...I'm in the limo biz.. drove 4 different the town cars for 14 yrs, always used Mercron 5 250/350k original trans never a prob...customers now want an SUV and I WANTED A CHANGE...FORD dealer gave me 1k powertrain warranty...so what happens at 1800k she's buckling in frst gear grinding noises etc...says trans is no good.....its at a trans/ differential repair shop...he's now sure yet until he opens her up...BTW shes 4WD...if I need a rebuild...what are we looking at $....right now she won't even go forward....need advice

Expect it to cost $2,500 to $3,800 depending on the shop doing the work. Make sure the shop doing the work knows how to deal with the servo bore wear issue properly. It is a weak spot in the transmission design and can be addressed during a rebuild so it won't be a problem again later.
