I bought my 05 used in 2007 with 37K miles. I have never been into the the engine and it shows no obvious signs of wear. I have never had a set of wheels with this kind of miles on it. What is the best oil to use to keep her running? I appreciate input. Thanks

There’s lots of opinions.

Ford tech Makuloco2000 just posted a video about Royal Purple and how horrible it is.

I always run Mobil1, regardless of opinions. Engines are always pristine clean inside on these.

If I was not running synthetic, I’d use Castrol.

Regular oil change intervals is really the best thing you can do. 3k-5k depending on driving and oil used.

This is plain old Havoline non-synthetic after 254,000 miles. Change it every 5000 miles and use Motorcraft filters.

It's at 298K now.

Big Mac keep using what you have been using. Why change what has been working for you getting you to 209k

Plasticseng that is ONE CLEAN CYL HEAD. Shows the value of good service.

I bought my '03 XLT nearly 3 years ago with 167,500 on the clock. Today it rolled over 219K. Since I've owned it, I've put the Mobil 1 full synthetic high mileage in it (5 qt jug is about $27 at Walmart).

For my 2003 Mustang GT...I bought that car new and it has always had Motorcraft synthetic blend put in it. It has 179K on it.

Both have had oil changed at regular intervals; 5K miles.
