I have an '06 Mountaineer 4.0 AWD. A couple of nights ago I was turning into a parking lot and felt power steering go out. I popped it looked like the belt had jumped off, but then I saw the AC pump was hanging low and had completely unseated. None of the lines in/out of the compressor or any surrounding components seemed to have been damaged and the AC coolant is still pressurized.
To get home I zip-tied the compressor in place, string-measures a bypass routing for the serpentine belt, bought a belt of roughly that length from an auto parts store, and installed it which is currently working fine. Upon closer inspection, the front top and bottom studs that hold the AC compressor on were sheered and remain in the mounting bracket, while the rear bolt apparently backed out completely.
What is required to remove this bracket to either extract the sheered studs or replace it? I can see that the coil pack mounts to it from the top, and from the diagrams on Ford Parts it seems the Power Steering Pump mounts on/inside the bracket. Can the bracket be completely removed/replaced without removing/disconnecting either the AC compressor (seems likely) or the Power Steering Pump to avoid the need to purge/charge any closed systems?
The bracket "19E708" in both exploded views below is what I need to remove/replace and both studs "HT1" in the second image are what sheered, while the bolt "HB1" is what backed out.
Thanks in advance!
