'06 Eddie Bauer
I just recently joined and have found great info here. I have a couple questions, that are probably trivial, but in my short search, I haven't located the answer.

I purchased an '06 Eddie Bauer just a couple weeks ago. Right away we took it to my parents and to my wifes parents for the Holidays. In between the two trips, I found the shifting issues TSB and had noticed the brake bump when coming to a stop. I had the local dealer do the TSB update and it seemed to shift much better, although I think I had a bit of a gas mileage drop.

So, for my questions:

1. Those that have had the shifting issue corrected, did most have it stay that way? I read in the shifting issue thread that some people felt it was going back to the way it was.

2. This vehicle has the Navigation system. Should I have recieved a DVD for this system? That is, one that the system uses? I do not think that I did. Furthermore, where do I put the DVD if I had one. Does it go in a cd slot?

3. My '06 is referred to as an eddie bauer, but has heated seats, navigation, power third row seating, V8.... Does that make it a limited, or does the limited trim package cover other options I did not include?

4. This is a certified vehicle. If I don't have the DVD's, should they have checked that during certification?

I apologize for all the questions. I have not yet recieved my manual from the delaership, which is probably where some of the questions will be answered.

Let me take a stab since I have the same truck :

1. Those that have had the shifting issue corrected, did most have it stay that way? I read in the shifting issue thread that some people felt it was going back to the way it was.

I had mine updated and it has been good for a couple of months and a couple thousand miles now.

2. This vehicle has the Navigation system. Should I have recieved a DVD for this system? That is, one that the system uses? I do not think that I did. Furthermore, where do I put the DVD if I had one. Does it go in a cd slot?

If the navigation system is working the DVD is already in there. If you hit the menu button it will tell you what version of DVD is loaded in there. The DVD slot is hidden beneath the motorized face. You can also eject it from the menu

3. My '06 is referred to as an eddie bauer, but has heated seats, navigation, power third row seating, V8.... Does that make it a limited, or does the limited trim package cover other options I did not include?

The Eddie Bauer package surprisingly does not come with that much standard anymore. The heated seats, nav, power third row, V8, auto climate, power pass seat, etc are all options on top of the package.

4. This is a certified vehicle. If I don't have the DVD's, should they have checked that during certification?

I would definitely believe they should. If you want an updated one you can usually find the latest (6P) on ebay for much less than the dealer charges.

Good luck with your new truck !

Thanks for the response. I wasn't aware that the face of the unit was motorized. The Nav system is working, so I guess that means the DVD is in there.

So, it sounds like if I want to upgrade to the 6P version, I could eject the 2p verion and just insert the new one?
