'06 Limited- Navigation recommendations?

I just purchased an 06 Ford Explorer Limited V8 and it has most options, but no navigation.
This is the second time I had a V8 Explorer, the previous one we owned was a 1996 and I loved it.

I want to replace the factory AM/FM/6CD unit, but I really don't like the way the factory navigation looks (in 06). It looks very one dimensional.
A few questions:
- Does the later (2009/10) factory navigation look any better? (please incl pics).
- Has anyone tried any of the "OE Looking" units from China?? They make a lot of factory-like units, so they're massed produced, but my gut says don't buy a chinese radio - despite the 2 year warranty.
- I guess the new unit is Sirius ready??

I don't necessarily need to add Sync, but wonder how complicated this might be?
On the back of the roof (just in front of the 3rd light) is a metal antenna, it looks like a factory satellite antenna, but is missing the cover. Did 2006 have factory satellite?

i personally would just look into adding a new aftermarket unit with bluetooth. and sat radio if you want. you will get much better sound, functins.

there was a member on here that did add sync, and a new nav unit, but its not just a simple install.
