I have a question regarding the tow capacity of my 06 XLT (V6) 4x4. I have a travel trailer (appx. 6,000lbs) and I currently tow it with my F150. We live in a huge hill and our driveway is asphalt up to the garage and gravel beyond that (100' +/-) uphill also. I can't use my F150 to back the trailer up the gravel portion where I park it because the truck is only 2-wheel drive and I can't get traction. My question is, do you all think that if I back the trailer up to the gravel unhooked and hooked my Explorer to it, locked in 4-low would push the trailer the rest of the way up?

Any advise would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

If that's a 4.0 V6 then it's rated for 6,000 maximum towing capacity with the automatic & towing package. Without the package you should still be OK on a short run like that, probably just in 4W high, but then depending on how steep that hill is you are adding weight from gravity so may not have enough power. I'd try it but go easy.
