Tranny problems (Takes deep breath) So I bought this badass truck 2 years ago with my tax return, pissed my ol lady off! Gorgeous black with tan cloth interior. Runs beautifully. Rides great! I am in love! 3 months of it being my daily (also have a 96f150 5.0 2wd single- cab llloooonnnggg- bed) the tranny goes. Loses automatic functionality, but I can manually run it through the gears fine. No dummy light until o/d goes all the way out. Eventually it gets 7 neutrals. Have it towed to a local tranny shop. I find a used tranny online and they say it's a match for 07 4.0 4x4. They test it and ship it. I personally never laid eyes on it. I pick my truck up and the world is right! My black Betty is back! So I head to work. Bout 5 miles. Do my time and head home. I go to pull out of the parking lot and almost died! I hit the gas to pull out, and it falls on its face. Traffic barreling towards me. I feather the gas and get her to sputter into the middle lane to safety. It's like someone yanked half the plug wires off. I shudder putter BACK to the tranny shop. It's got lights lit up on the dash I didn't even know were there! Im pissed. It's 5am (I work nights). I park the truck in front of the tranny shop and slide a note in the mail slot telling him something's not right. Next afternoon he calls. It's fixed. He'd not reset the computer to recognize the new tranny... but it ran fine on the way to work?! So I pick it up and it's ok again, but seems low on power. Next day it starts fine and runs about 4 miles and goes into limp mode, had to turn around and go home. Take it back a3rd time and same result. Ran obd scanner and it says random misfire, o2 downstream bank 2, and some other I can't recall. Go back to the shop after changing the o2s out. Gutting the cats, changing the plugs, wires, and coil packs. Take it back to the tranny guy and the shops closed. This mfr beeb open for 50 years... gone. Now no one wants to touch it. I wondering if I got the wrong tranny, or maybe they pinched/ broke one of the 20 wiring harnesses. Ooohhh aaannnnd they broke one of three ears of my starter so I replaced it and I think I sheared the teeth off the flywheel, bc it just spins and no turn over. Help me! Please. I want this truck. Ive got way too much in it to just let it rot in my driveway any more. Now that im stuck at home I can finally try some things out! Much love. Sorry for the essay
