WEll i have a 91 explorer with a 5.5" superlift And i have 1500 to spend to beat the J**ps!

Anyone have any comments or any other suggestions let me know.

Well for starters i want longer shocks because i think that is one of the reasons my articulation is limited i was thinking of the rancho 9000. In the rear i was going to put the shocks on more of an extreame angle. The only thing is I dont know how to measure for them. I thought i could lift up on tire with a fork lift and measure how long the shock would have to be fully extended would this be the right way?

next i am doing the Zimerman Mod to the rear Leafs.
And i am going to have collapable shackels made.
I showed one of my friends who owns a machine shop and he said we could make it prolly would not cost much for him to do it just a case of beer.

In the front well what could i do?
For one i am going to trash the superlift coils. I want to get 325lb coils. thats the only thing i can think of in the front so any sugestions would be great thanks!

Hey man, sounds good so far, i have the 325lb 6.5" lift coils from national spring on my front with a 1" spacer don't know yet whether i'll be able to keep the spacer or if it throws camber out too far. which shackles are you talking about for the rear? the boomerang? i was thinking about using standard length, albeit stronger, shackles hung from a bar that pivots dowm from the frame on droop and on compression the bar rests against the frame or a thin bumpstop. unfortunately i am still fighting a very stubborn rivet for the front axle pivot bracket, so i haven't been able to set the truck back down yet. very aggravating, i'm one step away from blowing it out with a torch. i tried, air hammer, drill, heat+airhammer, regular hammer, i think the last resort is torch, did you have this trouble or did a shop do yours? anyway i hope this helps a little. expect to pay about $250 for the coils.

I had no trouble at all with it the good ol trusty hammer took care of it.

The shackles are going to be made like the revolver shackels the same way just with my rigs mesurements.

How do you like the 325lb coils did it make a huge difference?

Hey i haven't been able to try the new springs yet cause i haven't got the new axle pivot bracket in yet, the rivet remember so ... i don't know but gloria is very pleased with hers. i hope to check mine out soon. i am going to measure for my shocks both front and rear by actually flexing the truck max stuff and droop and get out with a tape measure, i have already purchased rancho 9000's 9012 which is the longest available, so i will measure the lengths and mark locations and make shock mounts and hangers that match, the rear has no shock mounts cause it is spring over and the spring plates weren't reused, and the front will likey be moved also. anyway, i haven't really figured it out final yet, anyway let me know what you do and i'll let you know how mine turns out.

hope i helped , and yours might help me too.
