I have 175k miles on my 03 Limited 4.6 and burn 1 quart of oil every 1500 miles. This has been a gradual increase since 100k miles. Do you think I can make 250k? Its been a good truck.

Just some info for you, ford allows 1 qt per 700 miles to be normal on brand new engine so i wouldnt be too concerned.

Thanks that is reassuring information. I am going to try to make 250k miles on the original engine. The original tranny went 163k miles.

Check your PCV valve. My was burning the same amount of oil until I replaced the PCV.
Now it does not burn or blow the oil out.

my folks put 350k on a 4.6 that used 1 qt per 1k miles.

Had an old 5.0 that used a quart every 1500 miles for over 90,000 miles and was running fine when I traded. Keep driving her.
