I gotta have my music ya'll. My driver-side front speaker works but the rest don't. The truck's been sitting up for about 6 months since I got it and for about a year prior to me getting it. It doesn't have the right battery in it I know and the back glass doesn't go down so I don;t know if this has anything to do with it. I really dont know anything about sound systems. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you should start by getting the right battery. What does this mean you don't have the right battery? What do you have?

Before that, pull out the stereo and make sure the attachment is correct... the harness is clean and not loose.

I've already got it out. The connections are good. I've got a bigger battery that I'll put in it here in a few minutes and see what it does. I hope this fixes it. If it doesn't, then I'll know this trucks got a mind of its own. By the way, the battery thats in it is low in amps. It doesnt meet what the truck calls for.

Waiting...

So, while we wait, let's think about why the battery was not installed to see if everything was working... He should be back any minute now...

Mice?

With all the sitting the truck has done what have the mice eaten?

Mice wouldn't dare do that... haven't you heard of Mickey Mouse? :D:D They only eat cheese like on Tom and Jerry...

A lack of music can make anyone panic, this is great

still nothing. yeah, factory amp. They bad about going out, even though 1 speaker works? (By the way, I didnt go by a new battery for it, I just took the one out of my 68 firebird that has the same amp.)

mice hell, fields rats.... big ones! his truck sat in a field for a solid year. I couldn't resist the price. Along with always being a FORD fan.

So what happens when you turn the key just to the On position? Next, you will need a flashlight...

The very back window. I have the back seats down and interior pulled out right now. The motor has power getting to it. I just don't know if the period that it sat up for has anything to do with it.

When I turn the key to on, all the backlights on the radio flash on and off and the face comes on showing thatt I have a cd in. What do I need the flashlight for?

To turn on and hold under your chin facing the light upward to scare the demons out of your truck.

Or maybe just to see into dark places.

Let the search begin...

You will need to begin the search for their nest... and changing plugs and fuses.

I'm very close to having an exorcism performed on this truck. Between problems with the 5r55e trans, back window, driver front window, and now this with the speakers...... I need a break. I wish I would.ve put full coverage on it.

A miners helmet light would be best...

He'll want both hands free when the critters begin to defend their territory... and wear gloves... those spiders can be really toxic. Open the glove box first, and then peek under the seats...

All joke's aside, there's no signs of any rats/mice.

Those aren't jokes. You will need to fully inspect the vehicle for rodent damage... It might be best to wait until it's light out before you do this. Is the vehicle out in the open?

You take the fun out of it. The speakers should not be affected by sitting unless something was eaten or the amp went bad. One way to test the wires going to the speakers is to use a good 1.5 volt battery and touch the wires to the +&- side of it you will hear the speaker pop slightly with the voltage. As for the motors that move stuff the brushes could not be making a good contact. See if you can move them around a little. Of course make sure that you have correct power going to them.
