1 Speaker Works---3 Dont. Anybody!

I'm crystal clear on this, the trucks been inspected for rodent damage. There is NONE. The radio is out of the dash, the console has been pulled and checked, the back interior is loose at the moment. No signs of rodent damage, nests, rat s%!t.... not as much as a dead fly.

You take the fun out of it. The speakers should not be affected by sitting unless something was eaten or the amp went bad. One way to test the wires going to the speakers is to use a good 1.5 volt battery and touch the wires to the +&- side of it you will hear the speaker pop slightly with the voltage. As for the motors that move stuff the brushes could not be making a good contact. See if you can move them around a little. Of course make sure that you have correct power going to them.

I appreciate it. Let me get my 5 month old daughter back down who just woke up and I 'll run out to the shop and try that. Man, I'm not taking the fun out of it. I'm just getting frustrated with this truck. It's been everything but the engine. I can handle engine problems.

Sometimes a little humor at the worst time is what it takes to relieve the stress and think with a clear head again. As for the little one, why do they always want to get up right when you are in the middle of something?

:dpchug::popcorn:

FWIW I just put mine to bed also.

There's a lot to be done... take your time, and remember we all go through this. We have to laugh a little... My battery went out the other day, the music cut off, and I'm not sure, but I had a small breakdown of my own, tears too - Anyways, take it easy and we know this is serious... the problem will be found.

Oh, and don't forget your fuel system will need to be flushed... Was the vehicle started at all during the time it was not in use?

Use the wires off the back of each speaker thats not working? (Sorry if I sound ignorant but wiring is not my thing)

No it wasn't but I made sure to do that. I did a redneck flush with it. Ya'll out in California probably dont know our method here.

No you want to go from where they originate. Either radio or amp if you have one. It will just test the wires from that point to the speaker and the speaker itself. It will narrow down which direction to go to find your problem. If there is no external amp in the truck go to the back of the radio and do the battery tapping there. Start with the good speaker so you know what to listen for and to make sure there is not an external amp.

Describe the flush... and yes! You should have been there when my transmission blew up... I had to clean the seats after. Anyways, back to your issue... the flush man, the flush!

I'm assuming that the external amp is the white box mounted in the very middle of the back of the cab with a bunch of wires coming out of it. (man I hate wiring) First off, are these amps bad about going out and only play with 1 or maybe 2 speakers sometimes? 2nd, which colored wires would it be coming out of the amp to the speakers? Last, would an amp out of a 97 explorer work in this sport trac? My Uncle owns a junk yard and I've been stripping a 97 model for it in case I had any problems. Need any parts?
By the way, I appreciate the help.

Without seeing it, it is hard to say. Your on your own on this one. Anything printed on the white box? Names, model numbers, etc?

You should check the wires at the speakers and right after the harness plug at the back of the radio- if yo get power right behind the plug at the radio, but not at the speaker, you'll know that the wires are bad someplace in between the radio and the speaker.

Wiring issues are the worst. Absolutely... Wish I could help more, but it's something that you just need to be there to do. Wires can even be cut inside the insulation with no evidence on the outside to go by.

Redneck Fuel-Flush Recipe:
-3 1/2 gallons 87 octane fuel
-21 fluid ounces 99% rubbing alcohol.
-1/2 pint 180proof moonshine (save the other half for later).

In this order, pour contents into fuel tank. Disregaurd odor when adding moonshine. Allow 1 minute for ingredients to mix. To help speed up mixing time, CAREFULLY stand on back of back bumper while holding on to bed of truck and start jumping up and down for 2 minutes. Finally, crank vehicle and quickly get out and move away from truck. Take the 1/2 pint of remaining moonshine and drink while watching smoke come from vehicle.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably have to end up doing that .....tomorrow. Thanks again.

No wonder he can't figure out that his balance is set to the left and the fader is set to the front making his driver's door speaker the only one to work. It was the 1/2 pint of shine.:bdrunk:

Now that is a fuel system flush for sure! I just got a flash back of Ellie Mae, and Daisy Duke...

(Don't forget to check relays and such... good night!)
