96 EXPLORER XLT 4.0L 4X4
This is my first post so be patient with me please. I have a 96 explorer XLT 4X4 4.0 L engine..I have a short circuit because the 10 amp fuse on drivers side of dash keeps blowing. It is #26 and the 4x4 motor ,the back up lights ,the overdrive on/off and rear defroster are on this circuit. I have tried disconnecting the connector that goes to the transfer case, but it still blows.Has anyone had a similar problem? Any help would be very much appreciated. So right now I don't have B/U lights .can't turn on 4x4 or turn off the overdrive . Thank's davey b 99

Welcome to this forum! Did you check the wiring harness for the transmission? The range sensor controls the back up lights. Sometimes wiring could short against the exhaust or the transmission pan.
