Hey guys, I have has my X since 62k. I have changed the fluid twice in teh tranny, however, this winter it seems to slip and not engage when it is cold out right away. Recently, the front right area is squeeking and sometimes makes a knocking sound when IU turn or hit bumps, etc. I am not sure it is the tranny or a suspension issue, however there is excess fluit around the front right area. The AWD system or from transfer case might be mssed up. Any ideas? I have been known to do a few donuts from time to time nad maybe I worn out something in the front end. I am looking for any ideas before I have it checked out. Thanks!

any insight before I have to get it checke dout? Metal grinding and bumps in the front end? tranny slipping and not engaging 100% when cold?

I had the same issues with mine around 86,000. I noticed fresh fluid coming out, but not leaking. It was clunking into overdrive (4th) also. I changed the fluid, flushed and it still did it. The noise is most likely suspension. Mine would slip a few times in cold weather, but when it warmed up, no problems. All I could do was baby it until I traded it in. All I can say is get it checked out by a trusted shop.

shortly after I got my Sploder (bought it with 90k), it had a shudder between 4th and OD.. so it only happend when I had OD turned on.
Took it to the dealership (I had it under a drivetrain warranty), and they said something about some seals that had gone bad.. they replaced the seals and that problem went away.
Last summer (maybe summer before), I had to get my tranny rebuilt.. it was shifting weird (only sometimes it would shift into 3rd, and when it did, it was a HARD shift). I think it was due to water from the few water crossings I did to get to a camping spot.
The fluid you see... check around the fittings on the tranny cooler.. just after I did my body lift, I had some leakage there.. tightened one of the hoses clamps up just a hair, and no more leaking.
