X

I had one of those and it die about 2 months later. It was the AD/B series that is supossed to be high end model for PA.

PS: Audiobahn is crap.

my buddy has a hifonics amp and it is so rediculous with the alpine type R 12 it's a brutus model i believe or goliath maybe

I have one 10 inch Alpine Type-X in my 94 XLT and it sound excellent. If you do decide to go with the Type-X dont listen to Alpine when they tell you to put it in a 1 cu/ft box....i had a custom one built, and it sounded ok. I put it in a 2.25 cu/ft ported box, and it is REALLY loud. Every time it hits, it feels like you got kicked in the chest. i have a 3 JL 10 in setup too, and the alpine is a beast compared to it! Plan on spending some $$$ on a good amp though....im running a MTX Thunder Elite 801D, and it still wants more!

what about with this amp?

i never pasted it.... up on the top of the page i have two links

If you have the $$$ i'd say go for it! it looks like a lot of power in a small case.

if you do decide to go with the type X....plan on putting it in a ported box....

i dont if you looked at both the links but the one video made me concider it and on ebay (if the dealer could be trusted) wanted 715 buy it now for the sub and amp.. and figuring that the sub i think is 400 and the amp is around 800 i see that as a steal

I've heard that those amps are bulletproof (not literally). they seem like a lot of power in a small box. i would watch it to make sure that it doesn't overheat!

that does seem like a good package, but if you're not in a rush to get a system, you can probably save yourself some money by looking around for a while and piecing it together. I was able to get my type x for $120....the person i got it from had one, and bought another....ended up being way too much for his car.....

I put in a 1242D Type R with a Alpine MRP-M500 amp last week.

I am very happy with just the one. Its as loud as when I had 2 JL 12W3v1's with a 500/1 amp running those.

A video does nothing for telling how loud or clean a setup is.

All of alpine's recommend box sizes suck...most manufactures "recommend" small enclosures because most people don't want a big box for a single sub.
