Hello

Im about to buy these two alpine subs : http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=209818

Would this amp power it to the full potential since they need 1200 watts rms ?

http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=73762&brandtype=18

By the way would I save money and get the same performance out of these subs cause they have the same specs or do the type R's kill them ? http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=233098&brandtype=18

Thanks for help in advance :biggthump

I have the Alpine type R subs and they are awesome. I had them running on 1200 watt Concept amp and they pounded. I had them slot port box and there wasn't a whole lot of other systems that came close to mine and definitely not for the price. I've also used kenwoods a little and they don't come close to the alpines. Kenwood amps aren't bad amps. I have other ones I would chose personally but Kenwood is a good amp. I hope this helps. Be sure you get the subs coils the right ohms so your amp is running at its full potential.

Thanks Alkey3

I have mtx 300watt amp and was very satisfied ! Also would I need a better wiring kit or better battery upgrading to this setup ?

Yes that amp would power them great. I like MTX quite a bit. You definitely need to upgrade the wiring. Your battery should be fine as long as its not week or under powered to begin with. Also be sure you buy your subs with the right ohm voice coils so you amp can perform at it peak. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

the second amp will work. all wired in parallel you will be running 1 ohm. you could also buy the dual 2 ohm version and have a final load of 2 ohms if youre looking for a different option.

i have a single R12 and an MRP-m500 amp, my R12 is the previous version which is rated at 500rms, as is the amp. it hits pretty hard man, two would be sick.

you will want a 0 gauge lead and ground wire for the best performance, i would suggest doing the BIG 3 UPGRADE, which if you dont know is replacing the engine to body ground wire with a 0 gauge wire, as well as the lead from the alt to the battery with a 0 gauge wire. you will be maxing out your alt with this setup, it might not last too long if youre slamming it all the time. migth want to upgrade that when you can, as well as a performance battery.
