Im trying to remember if this has happened to me before and it turned out to be something simple. Normally I press lock and it locks, press twice and you get a confirmation honk. I like this as I cant always see the vehicle at night and like to know its locked.

Any tips?

Did you playaround in forscan programming, as the audible honk can be disabled.

Looks like horn circuit is toast or horn its self, just asked my wife to press the horn on the wheel and no go..Just about to leave on a trip to, it would be nice to have it.

Did you check the fuse? Horn relay fuse #22, 20A in the cabin fuse panel.

I can hear the relay clicking but im working on the #$%hole lower cover.

Where are the horns located on 5th gens? I cant find it lol.

Thanks for the picture, I forgot the parts would show it. Fuse is good. Pulled and relay stopped clicking. Hard to imagine both horns going out with out warning is it has never sounded off.

I hoping it isnt an electrical issue but I wont know until I can get the the plug at the horn to test for voltage.

The first thing that I would check would be the power on the relay contacts that go to the horns.

When you are checking the pins where the relay plugs in you should have two pins with power on them. One for the power to the relay coil and one for the contacts that feed the horns.

Any update on the horn issue? I'm having the same problem although mine is a 2013 explorer police and who knows what wires they cut/spliced into when the siren stuff was removed.

Forgot to update this. I wish I had better news, Started my 16hr drive with out being able to fix or properly diagnose the issue. A couple days into my week MTB trip, I hot the lock button twice as I normally do and heard a honk.....it was working again. Had a dog run out and stand in the road and layed on the horn and it was constant for about 3 seconds then faded out. It has since been working fine although I have not tried a prolonged horn honk to see how it does with some amperage going through. My guess is faulty horn. but with out checking voltages ect its hard to say.

Thank you for the update! I got a wiring schematic from the dealer today I will get started on mine this weekend. Cheers!

If you ever need diagrams in the future just goto http://bbbind.com/tech_database.html. Fill out the form (information can be made up). Then select submit. Scroll down and hit agree. Then click Wiring Diagrams and start selecting the diagram. If you do more than 3 diagrams in a few seconds it will lock you out for a few seconds.

Here is the one for yours (and probably all 2011-2015 models).

If you need help diagnosing just post.

Thanks for the diagram. Confirmed that my relay was clicking even though no horn output at the time. Still hoping it is the horns and not a module.
