1354m swap wiring

Okay, I was planning on doing the swap tonight on my '98 SOHC to get rid of that control trac stuff but ran into some concerns. I have been looking for a couple hours with a little luck. There is a sensor on the back of my 4405 with three wires on the out put side of the case and the brown wire. Do I need to connect these to anything of the 1354m or can I just leave them un connected? If I do leave them unconnected then the hole for the gear driven speed sensor on the case is not used? If this is not used can I simply put the VSS sensor in this opening to seal it up with no problems? I would like to get this wiring stuff firgured out so that I can swap this Tcase in tomorrow on my day off if anyone can give me some advice.

bump. Anyone? I am 1 bolt away from pulling the 4405 Tcase off.

There is a large connector near the chassis (on the driver's side). Thats where you will make the disconnect - which will remove all the transfer case related wiring (including the shift motor). The side effect is that you will get a blinking 4HI/4LO (or whatever it is) lights on the dash.

If I do leave them unconnected then the hole for the gear driven speed sensor on the case is not used? If this is not used can I simply put the VSS sensor in this opening to seal it up with no problems?
Put a regular (gear driven) VSS into that hole to plug it up and prevent fluid from squirting out.

what do you guys do when you have the full length console with auto for the 1354m shifter coming thru the floor?
