1500 mile trip!!

OMG my truck rocks!!! i have never seen it perform so well even with the freaking uhaul trailer in the back 85-90-95 miles an hour and it just drove like a dream now im really REALLY proud to say that im owner of a FORD EXPLORER!
it did use a lot of gas (bout 250) but it was well worth it, the trailer was really heavy not to say that the truck itself was full of stuff as well i only made one long stop the whole trip 1 1/2 hour it took me about 20 hours hauling ass...
Now I get the FORD built TOUGH saying :exp:

Glad you made it back with no major problems......You might have had the chance to meet your Maker driving close to 100 miles an hour, pulling a U-Haul trailer with an Explorer!!!!

my 97 when I first bought it (1 week) I had to make 3 missouri to odessa tx trips mine truck had 132,000 just bought it and my trips are 2,000 miles round trip... so in 3 month I went over 6,000 miles on a truck with 132,000... funny thing U-Haul installed my hitch on my old 93 explorer!!!! we explorer guys got a bad deal because of that crappy tire deal!!!!

yup the v8 really does the trick, easy to get it over a 100 even with the trailer fully loaded..... gotta love the power :P

I'm surprised you even got Uhaul to rent you a trailer... company policy doesn't allow that.

I'm about to take my '93 navajo about 1500 with a trailer from uhaul. When i went to reserve a trailer the guy starts to tell me that i can't rent one with a Explorer. I in form him that It's a Mazda Navajo and he says "Oh, Well that's fine then." Dumbass.

I have checked everything fluid and changed the oil. new rubber brake lines as they were cracked and got it alighned. I leave the rest of it to good clean living. good luck on your trip.

woooo, that's bad. You shouldn't tow anything going that fast.

that kind of driving is the reason that uhaul doesnt rent to explorer owners...
they(not us, the others) have proven that they dont know how to drive with the whole firestone deal.

pretty sad dude...you are lucky you made it, uhaul has a poor maintenance record and i doubt they are safe to tow that fast.
im pretty sure their policy is 55mph or less.

well it really was a long trip, and i was driving at night on empty road so it was ok to go fast, i checked the trailer 2 and the tires were brand new....
i think i have one picture of the x pulling the UHAUL trailer,
funny thing i told them that i had to work and that i would pick it up late, and as soon as they closed i went and got it with the x
since that trip i did another trip from housotn to miami and back the truck now has 150k milles and still runs like new.
gotta love ford and their trucks!
