hey, i have 2 kicker comp vr 15's that im going to run off of a lanzar 1500 watt class d amp, @ 1 ohm(hopefully, if it is stable @ 1 ohm liek it says it is)...im just wondering if ill need to upgrade any elctrical components or invest in a capacitor to keep my lights from dimming real bad...i will only be usin the system loud when the car is on, and my head unit has a seperate volume fore the sub output. i dont mind some dimming, it can be expected...but does anyone think i will definatly need to upgrade anywhere?

I would look into upgrading the wiring from your alternator to your battery, get a good quality deep cell battery, and look into getting a batcap (search for 'xstatic batcap' on google).

I wouldn't run anything less than 0ga wiring to the amp either, don't skimp on this.. You don't want your car to catch on fire while you're driving down the highway.

The recommendations in the first paragraph are just that, recommendations. But 0ga wiring from the battery to the amp is just about a must with that much power.

I'm almost positive you're going to have more than a few electrical problems if you try to leave everything stock and pull that kind of power. I would seriously consider making the electrical/charging system more stout.

As someone who has done 1500 watts to 2 15's, now up to 3000, yes you do need to upgrade your electrical. Look into mralternator.com and upgrade the 3 magic wires, a new battery wouldn't hurt either.

And 0 gauge isn't a must, I was just fine with 4 gauge, I upgraded to 0 gauge later though, so incase you plan on upgrading later on down the line, go with 0 gauge, if you don't 4 gauge is fine.
