its recommended for trail use, its still not really ideal for street use. in other words, they will be just fine although a 15x9 or 15x10 is what would be ideal.

I have also heard they are recommended, read an article that said they were optimum all around.

That is the package that I run. Ive had them for about 1 and half years, 10,000-miles with no problems. I have a Superlift 5.5-inch lift and that combination is what superlift recommends. The shop that did the lift said is was fine, and they have been using 8-inch rims with 12.5-inch tires for over 30-years, and no problems.

a 9" or 10" wheel is optimum. trust me. ;) a typical 33x12.50 on a 15x8 wheel will have an increased angle on the bead seat and the resulting bulge will deform the tire carcass to a very very small degree. the end result is slightly more wear overall in the center and more heat retention around the bead area. all this is nitpicking however, as said tire on an 8" wheel will be just fine. ideal is still either a 15x9 or 15x10 and this has been documented in our lab. the 15x8 offers much more wheel lip protection offroad.
