I have a 96' 6 cylinder XLT but i'm only getting like 16 mpg... Is there a reason for this? I have no aftermarket performance parts on it and I dont have a bad air filter...

Is there anything I could try to make it get a lil more umph?

Is it an OHV?
My 94 gets only 12 around town, but 20+ highway. It's just normal. 16mpg is actually pretty good considering your driving something as aerodynamic as a brick...

Nah- the Gen I is a brick. The Gen 2 is more like a loaf of bread... :D

Your MPG is normal...

i would love to get 16mpg again

I'm going to check my fuel filter... Thats right under the rear drivers side tire right?

16 i would do a flip for that!!!i got 9 before the rebuild and now i dont know what i get,i think its is around 12 but i also have to run 93 gas now so!!

Before I changed out tires, I got 25 MPG doing 75 on a loooong stretch of highway. Partial thanks to my small gear ratio.

Seriously man don't sweat it. When you get an Ex you had better expect low MPG. When you get used to it, you can tell when you are actually getting worse gas mileage and then that's the time to worry.
