17" oem wheels

I have a 99 XLS with 15x7 rims, I want to know if i could fit some 17" rims that I got from a 03 wreck and what size tires will give me the best ride without off seting anithing?

i think the offsets are different yours is 5 lug on 4.5 the 03 is something metric

i think someone can be 100% for you i'm only bout 60% sure

yeah if its off of a 03, i am sure it isnt the same pattern.... a stock 17" rim? was that off a explorer or an expedition? i didn't know explorers were even offered with 17s.....

17"s were available in '03. I know they were standard on the EBs.

Yep the 17s are new for the '03 year. They come on the XLT with Sport Package, E.B., and Limited.

I found some info on the web that lists the pattern for the '03 as 5x114.3mm.

114.3/25.4=4.5 inches, so the bolt pattern is the same.

I always thought they'd fit also? I've seen e-bay ads that state they fit "all Explorers". A 114.3 is the same as a 4.5. I like the rims on the 3rd gens....
