I'm thinking about running 275-60/17s on 17x8 wheels on my '00 EB 4x4. It's been lowered 2".
Has anybody done this?
Also, I'd like to use take-off wheels if possible. Has Ford used a 17x8 5-lug on any trucks? I've seen 17x7.5, but not 8.

the explorer 17's are a 7.5, and they havent made one in an 8" width. a 275/60/17 is a bit on the tall side, but still should fit fine with a 2" drop.

275-60/17 is the same heighth as the 255-70/16 I'm running now.

well then, i assume they'll work great. dont know much about the newer models' tire sizes, as most mid-90's had a 235/75/15 stock.

My main concern is the extra width. Don't want them to rub.

It should be fine. It all depends on what backspacing you get. I have 8 inch wide wheels with a 4.5 inch backspacing and there is no rub. I think stock b/s is 4.75. I am also lowered 2 inches. hope this helps.
