Hello everyone
I own a 1991 Explorer I accidently removed the speedo core and when I put it back in the first time the dang speedo needle went balistic just spinning and spinning what the **** is going on here I thought. well I pulled out the entire cable and regreased it with grease powder and I seated the cable core into the gear before I bolted the VSS and cable back to the trans case just to make sure it was engaged I thought for sure this would fix the problem but the needle still spins do I need an excorsist or what
, then again I removed the guage and took notice that underneath the needle there was some gold wire that seemed to be coiled and it seemed to be all twisted up as if the coil was unwound could it be that the guage needle went bad from it spinning to long prior to me disengaing it ? or is there a chance I did something else wrong when installing the cable?
