1993 Explorer radio doesn't work.

I just bought a 93 Ford Explorer and the factory radio has no power. Do I need a code possibly?

no, id just pull it out and check the conections.
there will be several wires coming into it, aside form spkrs of cousre.
black is ground so dont worry about it.
test all the others for power, then you know if its wiring, or the deck.

If its getting power, than its time to say hello to a better sounding aftermarket deck.
Even with stock speakers, your jaw will drop on the quality difference....nowa days theyre going dirt cheap for a decent name brand too

ya i forgot to mention the fuse for the excessory line in the fuse box.

briandye is right, a new deck will make a huge difference and you can pick up a great on for $75 or less.
