- 2002 Explorer 4.6L V8
Hi, I have a 1993 Explorer. The 4X4 is not engaging. Recently the head gasket blew out and I had a service center swap the engine. When I got it back everything weas fine. A couple days later I went to activate the 4X4 and it won't engage.
I have validated it's plugged in. Also, when pressing the button I am hearing a clicking sound (sounds likes relays clicking in the rear of the vehicle). So the button is doing something.
The shop that did the engine swap is saying there's nothing about swapping an engine that would cause the 4X4 to not work. They said they will look at it next week, but I'm hoping to go prepared (with some help from y'all).
Perhaps there's an easy fix? I do have another explorer I can pull parts from.
Any help would be great!
