I have a1994 ford explorer xlt. The transmission leaks but not constantly it only does it after I have been driving it for a hour or so. And when it stars to leak it is a pretty good stream it looks like it comes from the front of the transmission.i was hoping somebody can give me some suggestions to what the problem might be. Thank you.

Check the pan gasket but if it is running out at the bottom of the bell housing, then it is the pump seal. replacement requires removing the trans.

I would like to ad too this and if someone can give me an idea that would be great. I recently purchased a used 92 xlt and no leaks when test driving, no leaks under vehicle when looking at truck, and drove wonderful. I have zero slipping shifts great very smooth, but after driving for about 100 miles, all of a sudden i had burning electrical smell, added a quart of tranny fluid as i noticed a pink liquid underneath the vehicle. Checked, a bit low. Added a quart, and it got me home. Now when it is sitting, does not leak rea;;y, maybe a few drops right after i shut the engine off, but other than that nothing. I was told maybe the tranny line, or pan but since it does not leak when parked, i find it hard to believe that it is the pan. Anyway, any help would be great, i have not been able to get it on a lift, and if its a seal, i was going to add some stop leak and see if that helped. Any ideas??
