1994 Explorer speedo question

The speedometer in my '94 Explorer 4.0 4WD auto tranny is acting up when it's cold. It has 270 K miles so I guess it's about time. I've seen several clusters on eBay and wanted to ask what years will work for me.

What do you mean by "acting up"? Does it read low? Bounce around?

If its like mine, it will read EXTREMELY high when its cold...Like 85+MPH when im only doin like 65. Anybody know what causes this?

Mine reads high, bounces around, makes weird noises, all kinds of stuff but only when it's cold. During warm weather it works okay.
