Hello! I'm new here. Been searching around and can't seem to find the right info. Not to good at this computer thing.
Anyway my friend was leaving work when she heard a noise and then no tranny. It will not move in any gear. K hooked a gauge up today. It registers around 70 lbs in all gears and a little more in reverse. When I hit the throttle it goes up rapidly but then drops back to 70 lbs.
I would like to get any suggestions I can before I pull the pan. She said it was working good until then.
Sorry I posted in the wrong spot or missed something. I have done a lot of searching before I broke down and posted.

Did you check out this thread on pressure testing?

Seems that 70psi is a bit on the weak side, but might still function. Before assuming a blown valve body gasket, I'd be looking at the low/reverse band. Attempt a band adjustment; if you can't get the band to tighten up, it may be snapped. You'd likely find the evidence once you drop the pan. Go ahead and drop the pan if you haven't already, any metal is a sure sign of hard parts failure.

I think pressure is normal for low idle but doesn't hold at wot.
I dropped the pan and the fluid looks good no chunks in the pan just the normal metal powder on the mag strip. I dropped the valve body to check the main oil regulator but can't get it out. The gaskets disengrated when seperateing valve body so theyre hard to check.I pulled the L retainer but it won't move. I found a supposedly good trans and a parts tran I hope to go get next week. There is a guy near me that specializes in explorer ranger parts. I might see if he wants to sell out.I accidently got two threads running on this.
