I wasn’t sure where to post this but I just purchased a 1994 Ford Explorer and I’ve put some work in to it and it running great. The only thing is that it accelerates on its own, for example I stop at a red light and press on the breaks and my RPM gauge shows that im accelerating like if I was pressing the gas while breaking but it doesn’t speed up.
I’ve replaced the Idle Air Valve, the EGR tube, and the TBS and it continues to do the same. I’ve ran out of options don’t know what could be wrong with it.
Also every morning when I start up my vehicle it makes a noise that it’s accelerating but it doesn’t stop until like 10 minutes later.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 91-94 section. I think that you're referring to the RPM gauge (not the speedometer). It sounds like there is a vacuum leak somewhere.

thank you, i checked for a vaccum leak and that isnt it either.

Have you checked the throttle cable to make sure something isn't making it stick open? It's been a while since I've seen one mentioned, but there was a time when I recall a handful of people who reported a similar issue and it turned out the rug was bunching up on the gas pedal preventing it from coming all the way up.

maybe your throttle control needs to be cleaned? maybe the gunk is keeping it open and it cant fully close? but mrshorty would know better.

Does your tach hover around 3000 RPMs when at Idle?

Same issue

I have the same issue, were you able to find a solution?
