i have a 1994 ford ranger 2.3l manual shift,
the problem is no power, you step on the gas and
55 mph is about it, this will fall off when going up a hill,
or increase to about 65 mph down a hill.
has anyone got any thoughts on this subject,
fuel pressure is 60 psi.

...I take it you have stock 4.10 gears or ???..

...First thing I did was change all 8 plugs at one time to autolite platinum...Find the best wires you can locally...Clean your air filter like it's a k&n filter and clean your MAF (found in the "How To" in my signature) and I added a 2.5" catback exhaust to my 2.3L...You may loose some real low end torque but it makes the middle to high end so much better...

...If the truck is tuned up well I can stay in 4th gear on steep hills and just may have to stay in 3rd high for the steepest of hills, but my truck will run away with me, above 80 in the flats...:burnout:

thanks for the info, i changed the plugs & wires, i cleaned the MAF sensor, the air filter appears to be clean, the truck still has low power.

...The AP plugs make a big difference but a 2 1/2" exhaust will show the best upgrade...

...Have you had the truck a long time???...Are your gears 4.10???...Is this something that just started to show up as a problem or ???...Have you had your truck checked for stored codes???

i've had the truck for 3 years, I still don't know the gear rato,
I checked the codes with my star II tester and got a 335 code.
I checked the voltage at the sensor out put and got 0.01 volts.
the input voltage was ok.

...So you are running the stock 27" x 14 tires???...:dunno:

...I know the code 335 will kill power and gas milage from what I've read...If you have over stock size tires with your 3.45 gears you are getting milage at the cost of power...Combined with the code and 2.3L yes, this can be an uphill struggle...Pardon the pun...:D
