I've read just about everything I could find on this forum and have not been able to narrow down my problem. I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction.
Its a 1995 Ex with a 4.0 and 4R55E 2wd. It has 240K, but about 90k since the last transmission rebuild. It was also rebuilt around 75k.
The problem is it feels to slip/slight pulsation/ jerking when at low rpms (1200-1500). It does this in 3rd and 4th, which may just be because I can't feel it in the lower two. It seems to be slightly worse in 3rd.
At higher rpms and higher loads the tranny acts as it should. The only thing is after a long trip the 2nd to 1st shift is very rough.
About 15k ago I felt a similar slip/pulse only in 4th gear. I adjusted the 4th band and the problem went away. When this more recent problem started I tried adjusting both bands, which had no effect.
Fluid is good. I change the filter and the fluid in the pan about every 15k, and drive it very easy.
I took pressure readings from the rear drivers side port (not sure if that's the right place on this tranny)
Park/Neutral @ Idle - 95 psi
Reverse @ idle - 175 psi
OD,1,2 @ idle - 100 psi
Reverse @ 1500 rpm - 200 psi
OD,1,2 @ 1500 rpm - 125 psi
The Reverse pressure seems high, but I don't know what to start with or how that would cause slippage. I really don't want to just tear the tranny apart, rebuild it and hope that I fixed the problem. I really like the truck but I can't justify too much money into it since it's not really worth anything with the number of miles on it.
Sorry for the long read, thanks in advance for any help.
