1995 Explorer 4r55e no gears

Been working on my buddies explorer and I’m fairly sure it’s a 4r55e, he had it rebuilt and has a brand new torque converter… I’m not sure what he did the first time he started it up but every gear does not work and it acts like it’s in neutral when I take it out of park. I replaced all the solenoids in the valve body and He’s replaced the lever positions switch and still nothing. I went to fill the trans and when I turn it on the fluid level doesn’t go down. HELP

Sounds like the pump’s not pumping

Sounds like the lever does not match the notch of the main valve of the valve body.
Could happen when installing the valve body.
