1995 Explorer Diagnostic Readers

I have a late model 1995 explorer XLT with a ODBII style connector for diagnostics. However, I cannot get a ODBII reader to obtain data from it. It seems that 1995 was a change over year for diagnostics and after inspection of the connection point, I noticed that only pins 4,5,7,and 16 were used on the connector.
My question is since the unit is not ODBII compliant but has a ODBII connector, is there a low cost diagnostic reader available or a conversion kit for the 1995 model year? What are other 1995 owners using?

You need an OBD1 code reader. Very inexpensive. Same one the 91-94 guys use. One is being sold here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110623&highlight=95+obd1

ODBI has same connector as ODBII?

Thanks for the tip but I was under the impression that ODBI readers were 8 pin and ODBII readers were 16 pin. Was my impression incorrect? My 95 has 16 pins.
