Are there any good mechanic out there. I really need help. My Ford explorer i just got it out of the shop. The mechanic put a fuel pump on my explorer. It work for like 2 days then it would not crank again now this morning it crank. I really hate spending money on parts and problems i dont need. Does anybody know what it could be? it turns over but will not crank sometimes. The mechanic thought it could be the key switch but he said it was not, thought the new fuel pump could have went bad. But he told me to go and knock on the gas tank as my girlfriend tries to crank it. it didn't work either? i need help someone please help? Thanks Brooks

If you paid him to do it at a discount or full price I would take it back and tell him to check the pump. If its bad you have a warranty on it. If he doesnt try to fix I would never let him/her work on my **** ever again. That is a sorry excuse for a mechanic. Even if you didnt pay him he should still be wanting to fix it since he worked on it before.

Are you getting fuel at the rail? Fuel cut off switch is bad? Why was the pump changed out in the first place. Doing the same thing or just wasnt working at all?

have you tried changing the fuel pump relay....

Not that i know of? i guess well try the fuel pump relay switch next? just tired of sinking money in this explorer. its been well taken care of i always use lucas oil treatments every oil change and gas treatment. The explorer has over 200,000 miles on it. but still rides like a caddy. I hope its not to much more money.

What is the Rail? I hope its just a cut off switch ? Doing the same thing. it would turn over but would not crank. then yesterday it crank up i let it run for a little while but had nobody to drive me back from the mechanic so i waited for my better half to get home and then it would not crank and tried this morning too. still nothing..

He told me to bring it back or he would come and get it. but damn i just hate paying another tow fee when it was suppose to be fixed u know.

The fuel pump relay is under the hood. Check the owners manual, they have a map. Just swap one next to it to try it. Free. :)

Its the fuel rail. There is a shrader valve on it. Kinda like a valve stem on a tire. Check that and see if you have fuel when it is not cranking or when the key is turned. I was going to post up an attachment but cant for some reason.
